A number of reasons can cause the wall furnace to not light including a damaged thermocouple a clogged pilot. Now gently pull out the gas line. The initial flame of the pilot heats the thermocouple which will signal the valve to stay open and keep the pilot lit and the propane heater functioning. Be sure everything has cooled down before realigning the thermocouple and pilot light. Then let the knob up and rotate it directly to on.

Dirt and debris can collect in the pilot tube causing the flow of gas to be blocked. If it is not you can bend the thermocouple back into alignment with the pilot tube but only after allowing everything to cool. Do not rotate it to off first. Whenever the thermocouple detects an unlit pilot it turns off the gas as a safety precaution.
