Spread the felt flat onto the roof and nail along the top edge of the felt. You ll need enough felt to cover the entire area of the roof with a little extra on each edge around 5cm to allow for overlaps at the eaves and at the gable ends approximately 7 5cm. Replacing felt on a flat roof. Once measured and cut line the first piece of felt up so that it over hangs the edge of the roof on three sides by enough to cover the side pieces of the roof.
